Incoterms (FAS, FOB, CFR and CIF) are International Commercial Terms. These terms are pre-defined and published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). They are widely used in International commercial transactions or procurement processes. A series of three-letter trade terms related to common contractual sales practices, the Incoterms rules are intended primarily to clearly communicate the tasks, costs, and risks associated with the transportation and delivery of goods.

  • T/T payment. T/T stands for telegraphic transfer, a form of bank transfer. T/T payments are a cheap and fast way of transferring money overseas through most banks. • L/C Letter of credit. An irrevocable Letter of Credit is also an often used payment method for International commercial transactions. Letters of Credit are formal payment methods that offer a lot of protection to the parties. An L/C is written by the importer's bank to the exporter. It verifies that the payment will be guaranteed when the bank is presented with the concrete documents (bill of lading, and freight documents). Most letters of credit are "irrevocable" once the importer has had them sent. There are many different ways to determine an LC.

  • D/P (document against payment)  is an payment  arrangement under which an exporter instructs the presenting bank to hand over shipping and title documents to the importer only if the importer fully pays the accompanying bill of exchange or draft. Also called cash against documents. The major advantage of the use of D/P payment are the low cost, versus using a L/C (letter of credit).

  • Trust and partnership. Payment against documents arrangement involves a high level of trust. To our customers who have long-standing relationships with us, we usually make the payment arrangement as 30% made via T/T advance payment and 70% made via D/P to expedite the whole transaction process. The base of our relationship with our customers is mutual trust.
